“There’s no gain without pain” – whoever said that hasn’t met Melissa from Pathcare Kingsbury Hospital. Jeanne and I had to each have five vials of blood drawn the other day for our base-line blood analysis and will have to have to process repeated every fortnight for the next seven weeks. I’ve had two children and am used to having blood taken so it was a walk in the park for me, but poor Jeanne was still needle shy. To the extent that she nearly didn’t take any photos of my blood being taken. Melissa worked her magic though and Jeanne in no longer dreading the blood work side of the project. We have to fast before each session so if anyone meets us on those days before we’re done then extend us some grace – neither of us handle well on empty stomachs!
