A sad day for Twin Noakes

Jeanne and I are are sad to announce that our wonderful father, Lex Visser, passed away unexpectedly this morning.  He died of a stroke in my mother’s arms as they traveled down the Yangtze River on their trip to China, celebrating his 70th birthday.

The blog will be quite for a few days as we mourn his passing.

  1. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I hope you all stay strong for your mother! Thank you for your Blog, which I find very fascinating x

  2. I am SO sorry to hear this! Thoughts and prayers to your family in this mourning time. I lose my own father at this same time of year, many years ago when I was 17. It does get easier but it is fair and accepted to be sad and quiet for a good period of time. Blessings of strength as you go through this time~

  4. My condolence go out to you ladies. Have followed this blog for a while and so sorry to read about your dad’s passing today. Can’t imagine the pain and sorrow.
    God bless you both,

  5. My sincere condolences. Loosing a cherished family member is never easy. All you can do is remember the better times and all the time you had with them.

  6. Very sorrow to hear of Dad’s passing. Mine and Carol’s thoughts are with you all. What a great family friend, even though we never saw enough of one another as families. As a matter of interest my birthday is on the 9th November and as I know your Dad’s is on the 10th, I have always had a toast to him on the 10th of November for as long as I can remember. This year was no exception.

If my memory serves me correctly I was “best man” at Mom and Dads wedding in Kent. I have pictures of that as well as the bulls party in Maiden Head.

I know Lex was an icon in the medical profession————–highly respected. You have a lot to be proud of.

Lots of love Hilton and Carol

  9. My heart goes out to your family. I lost my beautiful 70 year old mother on November 4th, just four days earlier than your own loss, so I empathize with you to the utmost.

  10. What a great man, friend and tutor!
I will never forget what he taught me
    My sincere condolences
