In South Africa we celebrate the first day of Spring on the 1st of September, so Jeanne was out and about on Saturday in beautiful Kalk Bay, at the legendary “Brass Bell” for brunch with a friend to join in the fun! The challenge was to tuck in to a ‘traditional’ South African fry-up and avoid the carbs….
The “Brass Bell Breakfast” came with Bacon & eggs as well as toast and ‘chips’ (that’s ‘fries’ for those of you in north America!) which Jeanne swapped out for some halloumi cheese and mushrooms. In South Africa we often add “boerewors”(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boerewors) to our breakfast, but the breakfast was filling as it was!
All in all, a wonderful Spring (and low carb)day was enjoyed…!
